The comb

Will it work on my hair type?

The HEIR Volume Comb was designed for short-to-medium hair (1–6 inches). It works exceptionally on textured, wavy, and curly hair, and lifts fine or straight hair when used damp. If your hair is longer than 8 inches, this isn't the right tool.

Damp or dry?

Both. Damp lifts faster. Dry locks the grain in. Most of our customers do a 10-second comb damp out of the shower, then a 2-second touch-up dry before they leave the house.

Do I need product (gel, wax, paste) with it?

No — that's the point. Most guys can skip product entirely on a normal day. If you do use product, apply after combing, not before.

Onyx or Gunmetal — which should I get?

Onyx is matte jet-black. Gunmetal is brushed warm grey. Both are mechanically identical. If you can't decide, most customers go Onyx first and pick up Gunmetal as a travel duplicate later.

Is it really worth $24.99 vs. a $3 comb?

A $3 comb is plastic, flexes under pressure, doesn't grip textured hair, and snags. The HEIR is weighted, won't flex, and was specced with barbers. If after 30 days you disagree, send it back.

Shipping & returns

How long does shipping take?

Standard US shipping is 5–8 business days, tracked. Orders placed before 2pm EST ship same-day from our New Jersey warehouse. International shipping is calculated at checkout and typically arrives in 8–14 business days.

Is shipping free?

Free US shipping on orders over $30. Single-comb orders ship at a flat $4.99.

Returns?

30-day fit guarantee. If you're not happy, email hello@heirgrooming.co and we'll send a prepaid return label. No restocking fee, no questions — just a refund.

Where do you ship from?

Our primary warehouse is in New Jersey. Backup fulfillment runs from Los Angeles for West-coast orders during peak weeks.

Are you a real brand or a dropshipper?

HEIR is an independent, founder-run brand built in 2026. We work directly with the manufacturer and ship from a US warehouse. We are not a marketplace reseller.
